It’s one of the most exciting experiences for me to see how our customers use the Totally Dazzled rhinestone products in different ways to bling out their crafts, home décor, and event projects. Today’s post from Petalis Bless is no exception and it’s something we have not seen before on our blog so I’m very excited to share this (very) easy and super glam project with you.
These bling curtains take a bit of careful planning in order to get the spacing and the alignment right but other than that, it’s a very straightforward DIY. No sewing skills are needed and you can glam this up as much or as little as you want to using a selection of our products over and above the rhinestone mesh ribbon used to give these curtains sparkle.
Starting with plain white curtains, Petalis carefully plots where she would like her rhinestone mesh to line up. She has made two rows of rhinestone mesh ribbon and has not cut the ribbon down in any way. You could make any variation as the bling on a roll, as we like to call it, is super easy to cut and work with. Decorate your entire curtain with rows of bling or cut the width of the bling on a roll in half so that you have smaller rows of bling.
The best way to position your bling is to simply pin it to your curtain, as Petalis Bless has done in her video, in order to secure the rhinestone mesh ribbon while you are gluing it. This also gives you the opportunity to take a look at the setting and see if you are happy with the placement of your bling on your curtains.
I love how this project takes a simple white curtain and glams it up in a matter of minutes. What a lovely gift a set of curtains like this would make for someone.
This would look absolutely stunning on a variety of colors, too. Neutral colors are classy and timeless and are easy to it into any design. I would, however, for the most part, stick to using plain curtains as opposed to detailed curtains, unless the detail is concentrated in an area where the bling won’t be placed, for example, ombre-style curtains.
Enjoy playing around with your specific style and variations. Add as much or as little bling as you prefer. If you wanted to kick it up a notch, you could even add a thin line of faux fur to the top and bottom of each row of bling. I love this idea for a baby girl’s room. I imagine a beautiful baby pink curtain, with two rows of bling and a soft pink faux fur lining on each. Absolutely gorgeous.
