Juniper & Lace events, owned and run by Stacy Horn, is an established wedding planning business based in Northern Michigan. Their services extend beyond those of a wedding planner as they offer personal care and absolute commitment to each and every one of their clients.
Designing, planning and coordinating client weddings is a dream come true for Stacy Horn and Emily Pojar, the Lead Coordinator for the company. This power duo works together to ensure that every event that they plan is truly an exciting experience, shaping memories that will last a lifetime. Investing in their clients’ well-being throughout the process, they not only create magical moments but good friendships as well.
“Choosing a wedding planner, especially when you have great options, is sometimes a matter of finding someone you connect with and trust, someone who you know will listen to and respect your ideas (and your mom’s ideas and maybe Aunt Betty’s ideas)...”
This is one of the points that Stacy has really focused on in her interview with us and has stressed how important client relations are to her. She also brings this across in her vision and mission statements. For Stacy, designing and planning a wedding is only one aspect of the process and she enjoys delivering exceptional service by being there for her brides and grooms every step of the way.
Taking her client’s visions and building on them is vital to the design process. She feels that being able to connect with her clients is the key to extracting their ideas for their big days and helping them build on it. Fostering these connections, however, is not only about creating a dream come true for her clients but also about ensuring that they have a shoulder to lean on when life takes over, as it often tends to do. Stacy offers her clients the peace of mind that there is always someone to support them in their choices and that their wedding plans are in capable hands.
“Juniper + Lace strives to throw an epic party where you and your guests are able to revel at the moment. Your ideas, visions and thoughtful details will be brought to life when planning for your special day.”
Stacy’s passion for her career can clearly be seen in the vibrant and beautiful weddings that she plans, each one with its own signature style reflecting the character of the couples that approach her for her services. Her journey to wedding planning started after her and her husband moved to Colorado where they had winter jobs with free ski passes. The property they worked for hosted weddings and when they returned for the second winter, Stacy became the company’s wedding venue salesperson. From there, she landed a job as a venue sales manager at a neighboring luxury ranch resort, eventually moving on to working for an award-winning wedding planner in Denver. After 8 years of gaining experience in the wedding industry, Stacy and her husband moved back to Michigan, where she started Juniper & Lace.
Both Stacy and Emily thoroughly enjoy what they do and fuel Juniper & Lace Events with creativity through continually bouncing ideas off other wedding planners, vendors, each other and, of course, their couples.
Some of Stacy's work, in her previous positions with the resort where she worked as well as the planning company, has been published in Style Me Pretty, The Knot, Couture Colorado and more relevant wedding blogs. While this is something to be extremely proud of, Stacy’s most fulfilling experience is hearing her Juniper & Lace clients express their gratitude and joy after a successful weekend or wedding day.
As always, we asked Stacy and Emily what their current trend obsessions are. Stacy’s enjoying the richer color palettes, vintage photography and forest settings for weddings. The boho trend is still going strong in the wedding industry with its beautiful greenery and unique textures. Food trucks, donuts and, based in Michigan, their locally famous Moomers ice cream and Grand Traverse Pie Company pies for dessert. Stacy pulls a lot of inspiration from Northern Michigan and makes use of locally sourced vendors to support the community.
Emily’s favorite colors and trends include the natural tones. She loves a simple but elegant wedding venue, as well as gorgeous hanging lights.
It’s an absolute dream browsing through their gallery images. Their portfolio is incredibly diverse and shows off their natural talent for putting together and well-organized and exceptional event.
