Travina Brown from TMB Designs shared her tablescape design with us and it’s absolutely beautiful in pink, platinum and rose gold. The pink that Travina chose is a subtle pink, not quite baby pink but it’s very feminine and very gentle. She’s also made use of mirrors and silver tableware to add to the elegance of the table design.
Her opening statement when explaining her tablescape was the following (and I absolutely love this): “Soft, Sophisticated, glamorous, elegant, divine. Those are some of the attributes that I think of when I reminisce about the women in my life.”
Drawing inspiration from the strong and dedicated women in her life and what they’ve meant to her through the years Travina has designed every piece on the table with meaning. As she goes through the items and where you can purchase them, she also lays out the thought behind each one and why she’s added that specific item to the able. This is a great way to put together a thoughtful and meaningful experience for your guests (also a fantastic conversation to have around the table).
Starting with a blank canvas, Travina wanted to create an elegant and sophisticated setting. She made use of a simple, white tablecloth to build her design on. Fine dining restaurants often use a plain white tablecloth to achieve the same feel and it looks amazing, Travina harnessed her inspiration from this.
Taking us through her video, she also adds in a few awesome tips for the frugal buyer. Her white tablecloth was bought at Walmart and is, in fact, a sheet which she cut down to size and finished off to ensure that it was just the right length for her table. She used the remaining fabric to create white napkins for the place settings, allowing her to DIY two items from one savvy buy.
The table looks absolutely beautiful and her details really do stand out against the white tablecloth. She made use of our rose gold vintage diamante napkin ring to hold the bow-fold napkins and decorate the individual place settings. She also used the matching rose gold diamante flower brooches in her floral centerpiece and they look absolutely amazing. As she explains in her video, she decided to go with the rose gold rhinestone pieces as she wanted to show her viewers and friends just how easy it is to use as well as how beautifully they complement a pink and silver setting.
The tablescape, which was designed for mother’s day, is a beautiful fit for any number of special events that could involve the special women in your life. A get together for old friends who have meant a lot to you, a special dinner with mom and your sisters, even a beautiful birthday setting for a daughter’s birthday. Enjoy and Happy DIYing.
